A total of 736 primary school students in the province of Jaén are participating in the itinerant program “Learn to Grow Safely,” an initiative designed to instill a culture of risk prevention from an early age.

The activity, which will run until the end of April, will visit 16 educational centers across 15 municipalities in Jaén. Subsequently, the program will continue its journey through Seville and conclude in Almería during May.
During one of the sessions held in Huelma, Ana Mata, territorial delegate for Employment, Business and Self-Employment, and Francisco José Solano, delegate for Educational Development, participated. Both emphasized the importance of raising awareness among young people about safety and health, accompanied by the mayor of Huelma, Ana Guzmán.

It is crucial to raise awareness about safety and health from an early age.

The program is delivered through a mobile classroom equipped with computer and audiovisual resources that travels directly to schools. Through practical activities and games, guided by the mascot “Segurit@,” specialized technicians teach students to identify everyday hazards and how to react appropriately to them.
Topics covered include the prevention of falls, bumps, burns, and intoxications, as well as basic first aid, the correct use of protective equipment, and how to act in situations like choking or electrocution. Additionally, recommendations on healthy habits, responsible screen use, and noise exposure are provided. This initiative, now in its thirty-second edition, is constantly updated to incorporate new content, such as protection against illnesses and physical and emotional well-being.
