The train, which departed from Jaén at 17:20, experienced a new technical issue just days after the first episode. According to a passenger's testimony, onboard staff kept travelers informed, and unlike the previous occasion, the air conditioning system functioned correctly during the wait.
After approximately an hour and a half of waiting, passengers were transferred to an Intercity train coming from Almería bound for Madrid. The same passenger reported that this transfer took place under direct sunlight for about 20 minutes, amidst the heatwave affecting the province.
“"Staff informed us and the air conditioning worked well this time."
Regarding Sunday's breakdown, Renfe explained it was due to a technical fault in the air conditioning system affecting two carriages for nearly two hours. The rest of the train maintained normal air conditioning service. The train resumed its journey after the repair, accumulating a final delay of almost two hours upon arrival in Madrid.
The operator apologized for the inconvenience caused, assuring that passengers were informed and efforts were made to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
