The Jaén-based club announced the contract extension for the footballer, who will continue to wear the white and red jersey next season. With this decision, the club retains the key players who achieved promotion to Primera Federación, following the previously confirmed renewals of Javi Moyano, Mario Martos, and Caballero.
The central defender, originally from Pozo Alcón, was a crucial player in coach Manolo Herrero's system during the promotion campaign. He accumulated 2,887 minutes across 33 matches. His goal contribution came in a decisive strike that secured victory against La Unión Atlético in April.
“"Mauro is one of the team's flagships and one of the players who most feels the club's colors, having defended them for years as captain. Real Jaén CF's debut in Primera RFEF could not be faced without him."
Sporting Director Juan Gambero praised the defender's role in the locker room, describing him as a benchmark and highlighting his deep connection with the club. Gambero expressed confidence that Mauro will maintain the high level of performance historically shown with the white and red crest, emphasizing his importance for the upcoming Primera RFEF debut.
“"It is an honor to continue for another year at the club in such an exciting season as the debut in Primera RFEF will be."
For his part, Mauro Cabello expressed his satisfaction with continuing his association with the entity. The player conveyed the pride he feels in extending his contract to face the exciting Primera RFEF debut season. With this renewal, Mauro reaches 107 official matches for the white and red shirt, nearing the historic match count of figures like Higinio Vilches, Jesús Sierra, Geni, or Raúl Gaitán.
