The total investment breaks down into 14 million euros for 548 emergency actions on 257 rural roads across 78 municipalities in Jaén. These works aim to address the damage caused by the storm systems of January and February, as well as earlier storms in November and December 2025. Additionally, nearly 2 million euros will be allocated to 28 interventions in 11 irrigation communities within the province.
The territorial delegate for Agriculture, Soledad Aranda, emphasized the "firm commitment of the Andalusian government" to support farmers and municipalities affected by the storms, which left numerous roads impassable. "We are working to resolve the serious problem caused," she stated.
Repair work has already commenced in the provincial capital. The company Vialterra has begun operations on the road from Fuerte del Rey to Grañena, within the municipality of Jaén. The works include the construction of riprap walls to prevent erosion and the installation of transversal chains to protect the foundation of these walls.
The sector has in the Junta its best ally.
Aranda highlighted the "constant effort" to recover Andalusia's and Jaén's agricultural potential as soon as possible after the adverse weather conditions, reaffirming institutional support for the sector.
