The PSOE of the city of Jaén concluded its electoral campaign this Thursday with a distribution of roses and carnations through the streets of the historic center and the capital's downtown. The event, which started from the Local Group on San Andrés street, included the participation of the Secretary General of the PSOE of Jaén capital and mayor, Julio Millán, and the fourth candidate for the Andalusian Parliament, Ángeles Díaz de la Torre, along with militants and supporters.
Julio Millán closed the campaign with a direct message to the residents: «Jaén cannot keep waiting nor can it continue to see fundamental projects blocked, delayed, or forgotten while other Andalusian cities receive investments and commitments». The mayor argued that these elections directly affect the daily lives of Jaén families in terms of transport, education, health, housing, and opportunities for young people, and he championed «the public sector» as the foundation for equality and security for working families.
For her part, Ángeles Díaz de la Torre warned that «today the campaign ends, but what is at stake truly begins on Sunday». She criticized the Andalusian government's management, stating that Moreno Bonilla «has had more resources than ever» and yet, Andalusia suffers from «a collapsed healthcare system, young people without housing, blocked dependency care, and towns that feel they have fewer and fewer opportunities».
The candidate detailed the party's proposals, including the incorporation of 18,000 healthcare professionals, family doctor attention within 48 hours, aid for young people's emancipation, 30,000 new public vocational training places, and more university scholarships. Díaz de la Torre also warned about the risks to equality if the right and far-right advance, and called to «fill the ballot box with dignity, hope, healthcare, dependency care, and a desire for change» to make María Jesús Montero the president of the Junta.
