This initiative, published in the Official Gazette of the Province last Thursday, April 9, aims to foster activities that highlight Jaén's cultural and natural heritage, as well as its capacity to attract visitors. Interested town halls have until April 24 to submit their proposals, which must be executed between January 1 and December 31 of this year.
Each project can receive a maximum amount of 8,000 euros. For the granting of these subsidies, criteria such as the event's impact on the local tourism offer, its connection with provincial tourism products, its economic and sociocultural repercussions, as well as its originality, innovation, promotion and dissemination measures, and technical quality, among others, will be valued.
Municipalities may submit only one application, which must include detailed information on the project, program, or activity to be financed, its objectives, and a comprehensive description. Any relevant information about the events can also be included, such as associated historical, artistic, natural, or landscape elements, their calendar, the participation of the local tourism sector, the expected visitor numbers, dissemination actions, and their relationship with the tourism offer encompassed by the “Jaén, paraíso interior” brand.
In the previous call, the Jaén Provincial Council supported a wide variety of events, including the Sweet Cotton Festival in Baños de la Encina, the Fiesta de la Aceituna in Martos, the Reales Fiestas del Concejo in honor of San Andrés in Baeza, the Fiesta de la Cereza in Castillo de Locubín, the Fin de Semana de Época in Bailén, the V edition of the Iberian Lynx in Andújar, Cazorla Flamenca, the Wine and Gastronomy Day in Frailes, and the Summer Music Festival in Úbeda, among many others.
