The Jaén City Council has reminded that the procedure to obtain the resident permit, which authorizes parking in regulated zones near one's home, is permanently open. Ahead of the implementation of the new regulated parking system, the council aims to increase public information so that residents have the permit before the new Green Zone becomes operational, thus avoiding issues during the transition period.
The resident permit costs 7.5 euros per month and is contracted for twelve months, authorizing parking 24 hours a day in the regulated zones near the permit holder's residence. Individuals registered in the streets within the regulated parking areas must complete the process at the EPASSA offices, located at the Bus Station in Jaén. Information regarding the procedure, necessary documentation, and requirements is available there.
The City Council has also announced the launch of an informational campaign for citizens to explain the deadlines, required documentation, and the various points available for managing these permits before the new parking regulation system is implemented.
According to the Council, the expansion of regulated parking with the incorporation of the Green Zone aims to improve urban mobility, encourage vehicle turnover in areas with high commercial, administrative, and service activity, and optimize public space usage, while maintaining preferential parking for residents of the affected streets.
