The exercise, named Eagle Eye 26-03, will run until next Friday. The deployment includes six F-18 fighter jets, which will operate from the Malaga Air Base to carry out rapid reaction alert missions in response to unidentified aerial traces.
On land, the II-73 Anti-Aircraft Artillery Unit has been deployed in the vicinity of the Air Base and the port of Malaga. This unit, known as Carthago, aims to strengthen security and response capabilities in the area.
Meanwhile, the Navy is contributing to the operation with the frigate Méndez Núñez, which will patrol the waters of the Alboran Sea. The vessel integrates its radar and missile systems into the joint air defense network, complementing the coverage provided by radars located in Constantina, Motril, and Alcalá de los Gazules.
