The political party Jaén Merece Más (JM+) has criticized the optimism of the PP and PSOE in the province of Jaén, arguing that employment data contradicts their pre-election campaign rhetoric.

According to the party, Jaén was the sole province in Spain to experience a decrease in employment during March. Data indicates a loss of 12,434 Social Security affiliates, marking the third consecutive month of decline in contributors and an increase of 58 new unemployed individuals.

"You cannot applaud supposed successes when the province has been losing thousands of contributors for months."

JM+ asserts that the province has for decades missed opportunities for balanced territorial development, leading to economic and demographic decline. The party also criticizes that crucial decisions for Jaén are made outside the province, by entities such as the Junta de Andalucía or the Central Government, a model they believe hinders a fair distribution of resources.
While the capital has shown more favorable unemployment trends in recent years, Jaén Merece Más warns that this improvement does not offset the overall situation in the province, where “severe instability” persists in the productive sector. Therefore, the party advocates for political representation focused exclusively on the province's interests to reverse the socioeconomic gap and curb the exodus of young people, demanding equal opportunities compared to other territories.
