The event was officially presented at the Provincial Palace of the Diputación, with the attendance of Paco Reyes, president of the Diputación de Jaén; José Ayala, territorial delegate for Tourism, Culture and Sport of the Junta; and Marcos Gutiérrez, president of the Club Deportivo Jaén Mar de Olivos 4X4, the organizing entity.
“"Once again, Jaén will become a top-level stage for motor sports, hosting an event that is part of the GT2i Spanish All-Terrain Rally Championship and brings together the best national specialists in this discipline."
The rally, spanning 360 kilometers, will pass through the municipalities of Jaén, Fuerte del Rey, Cazalilla, Lahiguera, Arjona, Mengíbar, Mancha Real, Torrequebradilla, Jimena, Begíjar, Baeza, and Úbeda. This competition offers a valuable opportunity for the promotion of the province, highlighting its unique topography, which is ideal for all-terrain rallying, with a combination of mountain ranges, countryside, and extensive olive groves.
The Jaén event is the second on the national calendar, which comprises seven dates and began in Guadalajara in March. The weekend's schedule will kick off on Friday with a vehicle exhibition on Bernabé Soriano street, in front of the Jaén Cathedral, starting at 8:30 PM. The competitive stages will take place on Saturday and Sunday, concluding with the awards ceremony on Sunday at 2:30 PM at IFEJA.
Marcos Gutiérrez emphasized the rally's strong reception among drivers and co-drivers, who appreciate the province's rich tradition in motor sports and the large number of fans from all over Spain who gather along the route.
