The Sports Pavilion of the University of Jaén is the chosen venue for the Spanish University Championship (CEU) 2026 in table tennis. On Tuesday, April 28, and Wednesday, April 29, the city of Jaén welcomes the elite of university sports, noted for its high technical level and the participation of 28 universities from across the country, mobilizing over 100 athletes.
The competition spans two days. Tuesday is entirely dedicated to the team competition, both men's and women's, which includes an initial group stage and a final knockout phase. Each team match consists of five encounters between team members.
On Wednesday morning, the men's individual competition will take place, serving as the grand finale of the championship. This day will determine the best university table tennis players in the country, and medals and trophies for all competitions will be awarded.
“"The level of this CEU 2026 is guaranteed thanks to the participation of nationally renowned figures."
This championship is the second of three major events that the University of Jaén is organizing this year within the framework of the CEU 2026. Following the success of the cross-country event held in March, table tennis serves as a prelude to the Track and Field Championship, which will take place on May 9 and 10 at the La Salobreja facilities.
The organization of these events benefits from the close collaboration of the Municipal Sports Board of Jaén City Council, the Provincial Council of Jaén, and the Club Atletismo Unicaja Jaén Paraíso Interior. Their support is crucial for consolidating the province as a benchmark in managing high-level sports competitions.
