This decision responds to the request from the capital's hospitality sector, represented by Hosturjaen, and aims to compensate for the delay in terrace usage during the day due to high temperatures.
The second deputy mayor and urban planning councilor, África Colomo, explained that the measure aligns with current regulations and has been implemented in other cities, trusting the sector's responsibility in its execution.
The municipal decree indicates that high summer temperatures shift citizen activity towards the evening, making it advisable to temporarily adapt terrace operating conditions to balance economic activity with public space enjoyment.
Additionally, high tables for standing consumption will be permitted until 10:30 PM, coinciding with the "tardeo" (afternoon social gathering) hours, without altering the occupation area, authorized capacity, or accessibility conditions.
The measure does not authorize the installation of new elements, auxiliary bars, music equipment, or other non-expressly permitted items. After the extended hours, the standard regulations will apply.
The municipal ordinance also regulates aspects such as capacity, cleaning, furniture, and its removal after activity ends. To obtain a terrace license, it will be essential to be up-to-date with payments of fees and debts to the Local Administration, and to possess an opening license.
Continued non-compliance with measures, such as capacity or cleaning, could lead to the loss of the license. Installation must adhere to what is authorized, without exceeding the granted area or increasing its components.
The text also addresses placement on the roadway, aesthetic conditions, limitations due to landscape or historical heritage, and the prohibition of furniture with embedded advertising, while valuing the use of delimiting elements.
