The contest, open until September 27, aims to raise social awareness about Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The theme centers on promoting SDG 9: Industry, innovation, and infrastructure, inviting participants to capture images of sustainable industries, improved infrastructure, and technological advancements.
Luis Jesús García-Lomas, manager of Fundación Caja Rural de Jaén, highlighted the importance of innovation in improving territories and people's lives. The contest, endorsed by the Andalusian Federation of Photography (FAF) and the Spanish Confederation of Photography (CEF), will distribute 6,000 euros in prizes: 3,000 euros for the first award, 2,000 for the second, and 1,000 for the third.
Participants can submit up to five images through the platform fundacioncrj.fotogenius.es. The jury's decision, composed of experts in imagery and education, will be announced on November 4.
The awarded works and a selection of submitted images will be part of an itinerant exhibition starting at the Hospital de Santiago in Úbeda on November 27, coinciding with the award ceremony. Subsequently, the exhibition will tour other municipalities and educational centers in the province of Jaén.
Since 2021, the foundation has promoted SDGs through this contest, having addressed themes such as hunger, education, climate change, urban sustainability, and water in previous editions.
SDG 9 aims for sustainable infrastructure, clean industries, promotion of technology and research, and equal access to information, key elements for economic and social development.
