The socialist party will present a motion at the next Provincial Council plenary session to urge the regional administration to reconsider its decision. Furthermore, they request that the technical criteria used for the inclusion and exclusion of municipalities be made public, seeking "maximum transparency and objectivity" in a matter that directly affects the economy of "thousands of Jaén families."
The provincial deputy of the PSOE, Javier Perales, denounced a "comparative grievance" by the Junta and accused the PP of "governing for a few." Perales criticized the PP's motion, which he deems "senseless," for attributing the solution to the Ministry, arguing that the Junta "has not been capable of finding technical criteria municipality by municipality."
The PP made a proposal of the lazy
Perales demanded that the Junta "rectify and modify these reports" that exclude farmers who "are simply trying to make a living from their work" solely based on the municipality they reside in.
For his part, the general secretary of UPA Jaén, Jesús Cózar, described the exclusion of about fifty municipalities from the IRPF module reduction for 2025 as "incoherent." He pointed out "paradoxes" even among the beneficiary municipalities, with variable reductions (0.18, 0.13, or 0.05) despite having "the same characteristics, even bordering ones."
Cózar expressed his lack of understanding regarding this "heterogeneity and discrimination," urging that the order be adapted "more to reality" to include the excluded municipalities. He highlighted the importance of the primary sector in the province, which supports over 80,000 farms and families.
