The Spanish Government has approved a subsidy of up to 6.4 million euros for 67 municipalities in the province of Seville.

These funds will be used to hire unemployed individuals who will participate in projects focused on the reconstruction and recovery of areas affected by last winter's storms. The initiative aims not only to repair damage but also to provide temporary employment.
According to the Government Sub-delegation, Royal Decree 608/2026, which regulates these subsidies, has the primary objective of contributing to the "urgent need for reconstruction and recovery" of damaged areas. The execution of public works and services is considered key to normalizing socio-economic activity and offering job opportunities.
The Government Sub-delegate in Seville, Francisco Toscano, detailed that these direct aids, managed by the State Public Employment Service (SEPE), complement the more than 230 million euros previously granted to farmers, ranchers, and local corporations.

"It is the commitment of the Spanish Government to accompany the affected municipalities until normality is restored and public resources reach where they are most needed."

The program considers various factors to determine the aid amount, including each municipality's population, registered unemployment, the cost of damages incurred, as well as the duration and type of employment contracts. Jobs will range from a minimum of three to a maximum of six months.
Local corporations in the province of Seville will have 5.35 million euros guaranteed, with an additional 1.07 million available if the requested subsidy is less than the allocated budget. Requirements for hired individuals include being unemployed and registered as job seekers. For unskilled positions, priority will be given to those under 30 and over 52, while for skilled jobs, the aim is to promote first professional experiences.
