CB Jaén's defeat in the playoff for permanence in Segunda FEB has triggered a series of events directly impacting ULB. The team from Jaén, which finished twelfth in the Western Conference, was relegated after losing the return match against Ciudad Molina Básket, despite winning the first leg.
According to regulations, CB Jaén's relegation to Tercera FEB's Conference D means that the worst eleventh-placed team among the two groups in the latter category would lose its spot. Currently, Unión Linense de Baloncesto, with a record of 8 wins and 18 losses, is in that position, potentially leading to its relegation to Primera Nacional.
“"The hypothetical promotion of other teams from Conference D, such as CB Algeciras or Gymnástica Portuense, could create a vacancy that would save ULB from relegation."
However, there are scenarios that could prevent ULB's relegation. If any of the teams representing Conference D in the promotion phase (such as CB Algeciras, Jaén Fútbol Sala, Badajoz, or Gymnástica Portuense) manage to move up a category, a vacancy would be created, avoiding a cascading relegation. Another possibility, which frequently occurs, is that a team promoted from Primera Nacional might decline its spot in Tercera FEB due to budget constraints.
