After surpassing 12,000 runners in the 2026 edition, the event continues its upward trajectory. This growth is reflected not only in the total volume of participants but also in its global reach, establishing itself as one of the most prominent 21.097-kilometer races in Europe.
The international nature of the competition is one of its current pillars. Nearly 50% of registrants come from outside Spain, with the United Kingdom leading international participation, followed by Ireland and France. The diversity of runners extends to countries such as the Netherlands, Poland, Germany, Norway, Italy, the Czech Republic, and Belgium.
Nationally, the race maintains strong local roots, with over 2,500 registrants from the province of Malaga. At the regional level, Andalusia leads participation, while the event features representation from all 50 Spanish provinces and the two autonomous cities.
Female participation is also reaching historic figures, with over 3,000 women registered, representing nearly 40% of the total. This data highlights the upward trend of women's presence in long-distance running, positioning the Costa del Sol capital as a benchmark in this evolution.
