The Popular Party of Andalusia has confirmed that Catalina García, the current regional Minister of Sustainability and Environment, will head the candidacy for Jaén in the upcoming Andalusian autonomous elections, taking over the position previously held by Juan Bravo.

The appointment of Catalina García as the head of the list for Jaén in the Andalusian elections, scheduled for May 17, has occurred without much surprise. The minister, who previously served as head of Health and Consumer Affairs, assumes the role that in the previous autonomous elections was held by Juan Bravo, now a deputy in the Congress.
The Andalusian PP Electoral Committee is expected to ratify today the number one candidates for the lists in the eight provinces of the community. The President of the Junta and candidate for re-election, Juanma Moreno, will run again for Málaga. In the other provinces, ministers from the Andalusian Government will lead the lists, with the exception of Córdoba, where the party's general secretary and campaign coordinator, Antonio Repullo, will be the head of the list.
Compared to the June 2022 elections, several new faces are observed. Ramón Fernández-Pacheco, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development, will lead for Almería, succeeding MEP Carmen Crespo. For Cádiz, the Minister of Health, Presidency and Interior, Antonio Sanz, will take over from Ana Mestre. In Granada, the Minister of Development, Territorial Planning and Housing, Rocío Díaz, will replace the current mayor of the capital, Marifrán Carazo.
On the other hand, Juanma Moreno for Málaga, the Minister of Culture and Sport, Patricia del Pozo, for Sevilla, and the Minister of Social Inclusion, Youth, Families and Equality, Loles López, are repeating as number one candidates.

The selection of the heads of list, four men and four women, represents a commitment to political experience and management of recent years, as seven are part of the current autonomous Government as ministers and the eighth, Antonio Repullo, currently general secretary of the PP-A, was delegate of the Junta Government in the province of Córdoba in the previous legislature.

The PP-A Electoral Committee will approve the complete lists this Wednesday, coinciding with the first day of the deadline for submitting candidacies to the Electoral Board. Subsequently, these lists must receive the approval of the party's National Electoral Committee.

"The diligence with which the party has resolved this very important procedure represents another example of the unity, serenity, and stability that reigns in the PP-A, which is the same as that displayed by our autonomous community."

Antonio Sanz · President of the PP-A Electoral Committee
