Firefighters intervened this afternoon in an incident involving a car fire on the shoulder of the JA-3210 road in Puente de la Sierra. The event, which occurred around 7:45 PM at kilometer 1, near the Portón de los Leones, resulted in no casualties, although the proximity to agricultural land caused moments of tension.
For reasons yet unknown, the car suddenly began to burn, producing a column of fire. Due to the intensity of the flames and its closeness to an olive grove, officers from the Local Police, Firefighters, Civil Guard, and road maintenance personnel were dispatched to the scene to secure the area and extinguish the fire.
This incident follows another intervention by Jaén firefighters within a 24-hour period. Earlier this morning, they responded to a fire in the vicinity of the Polígono Los Olivares, behind the Neurotraumatological Hospital, which started around 11:30 AM. The proximity of this second fire to the healthcare facility and the Jaén Plaza shopping center also generated significant attention.
