The RAÍZ Jaén program aims to provide local urban agendas for eleven towns in the province of Jaén, particularly those with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants that lack strategic planning tools. At the event held in Arjona, the main results obtained in the municipality were presented, which will serve as the basis for the development of its future urban agenda.
The Deputy for European Funds and Geolit, Lourdes Martínez, explained that this meeting marks the end of the program's first phase. Students from the University of Jaén have presented the analysis and diagnosis carried out in Arjona, work that will be fundamental for the urban agenda to be delivered to the city councils. Martínez emphasized the importance of having this tool to face challenges and seize future opportunities.
The RAÍZ Jaén program, part of the European NEOLAiA Alliance, involves the Provincial Council of Jaén, which coordinates and finances the project, and the University of Jaén, responsible for the training and academic follow-up of the students. The Fundación Estrategias will provide technical support for planning.
The deputy highlighted that this initiative represents a further step in the strategic planning of the province of Jaén, aiming to promote the social and economic development of the region.
