Those interested in learning or improving a language have until May 20 to submit their admission applications to the six Official Language Schools (EOI) in the province of Jaén. A total of 4,850 places are offered for the upcoming 2026/27 academic year, covering seven different languages: German, French, English, Italian, Chinese, and Spanish as a foreign language.
These programs are designed for individuals over 16 years of age, although 14-year-olds can also enroll if they wish to study a language different from their first foreign language in Compulsory Secondary Education. The training at the EOI allows students to obtain official certifications recognized by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
The EOI offers various teaching modalities, including in-person, blended, and distance learning options, to adapt to students' individual needs. Additionally, it is possible to enroll in the Language Update, Improvement, and Specialization Courses (CAPE), aimed at professional groups such as teachers, and adults with specific learning needs at Basic A1, Basic A2, Intermediate B1, Intermediate B2, Advanced C1, and Advanced C2 levels.
The application process can be completed online through the Virtual Secretariat on the Junta de Andalucía's School Enrollment Portal, or in person at the schools themselves. Before June 10, each center will publish the ranked lists of applicants. The final lists of admitted and non-admitted candidates will be made public on June 24, and those who secure a place must formalize their enrollment between July 1 and 10, preferably via the Virtual Secretariat.
