The collective believes that the interventions carried out in the first phase, during 2024 in Torredonjimeno, have not met the needs of towns such as Martos and El Carpio. They insist that a complete road infrastructure is crucial for the socioeconomic development of the area.
The platform also demands the inclusion of this project in the Andalusian Transport and Mobility Infrastructure Plan (PITMA), with its corresponding budgetary allocation. They describe the current actions as insufficient “patches.”
“"Martos' industrial production has to take that big detour to reach Seville, and rural tourism needs good connections. This holds us back."
In a statement, the collective criticizes the regional administration's strategy, accusing it of maintaining a policy of partial interventions that, in their view, fail to resolve the historical lack of a direct high-capacity connection between Jaén and Córdoba, the only Andalusian capitals without such an infrastructure.
The platform demands “rigor and commitment” from the Junta de Andalucía, urging it to address the demands of the affected regions and to end what they describe as a situation of “abandonment” in infrastructure matters.
Finally, they have announced that on April 15, they will go to the Parliament of Andalucía, along with the citizen platform in defense of the A-306, to deliver the signatures collected in support of the highway's construction.
Currently, the highway connection between Jaén and Córdoba requires detours through Bailén, which significantly increases travel times and hinders the integration of the central Andalusian axis. Roads such as the A-306, N-432, and A-311 lack dual carriageways in many sections, leading to high traffic density and concerns about road safety.
