The Andalusian Government Delegation has announced that the Santa Eulalia Siphon Bridge, a key infrastructure in Huelva, will be closed to vehicular and cyclist circulation for three consecutive days. This measure is due to the execution of maintenance works, described as “urgent and unavoidable,” on the water pipelines that run through the viaduct.
The works, which began on April 27th and continued until April 30th, are now resuming after the May 1st holiday weekend. It is important to note that the closure will not be continuous, but will be applied exclusively during the hours between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM, allowing traffic during the night and early morning.
“"The interventions are urgent and unavoidable to ensure the proper functioning of the water pipelines."
Given this situation, authorities have issued a recommendation to regular users of this route. It is suggested to use the Odiel Bridge as the main alternative for travel between Huelva, Corrales, and the various coastal towns. Caution and advance planning of journeys are advised, as a significant increase in traffic volume is expected on the Odiel Bridge during the closure hours of the Siphon Bridge.
