The return of open-air markets marks the start of the summer season on Huelva's beaches, revitalizing the routine for residents and visitors with stalls featuring crafts and local products.
Several tourist towns in the province have already announced the dates, times, and locations for their traditional summer markets. From the coast of Punta Umbría and El Portil to the Doñana area, including Matalascañas, El Rocío, and Almonte, afternoons will be filled with stalls and a vacation ambiance.
In Matalascañas, the summer market began last Thursday, June 18th, and will continue every Thursday until September. Stalls will be set up next to the Dunar Park, operating approximately between 3:00 PM and 10:00 PM, establishing itself as a popular meeting point.
The Doñana area will also see its calendar adapted. In El Rocío, the market will be held on Saturday afternoons in Plaza del Acebrón, from July 11th to September, during the same hours of 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
In Almonte, a specific adjustment has been made. The market planned for July 3rd will be moved forward to June 30th to avoid coinciding with the patron saint festivities and the Almonte Fair.
The western coast is preparing for the return of important events. El Portil will launch its summer market on June 24th, taking place on Wednesdays in the afternoon near the Health Center.
Shortly after, on June 29th, the market in Punta Umbría will open. It is expected to start around 5:00 PM on the extension of Avenida de la Marina, occupying the street next to the Club Deportivo Náutico.
Beyond commercial activity, these markets are a characteristic feature of Huelva's summer, offering a space for strolling and discovering the vacation destination.
With the start of the summer season, Huelva thus revives a tradition that contributes to the charm of its towns and beaches.
