The fragility of the railway connections to the province of Huelva has once again been highlighted. Renfe confirmed on Thursday that a disruption on Wednesday afternoon, detected at 5:10 PM, completely halted circulation between the Sevillian stations of Alamillo and Valencina-Santiponce.
This incident not only affected the C-5 commuter line in Seville but also paralyzed the Medium Distance connections between Seville and Huelva, and blocked the arrival of the Alvia train from Madrid. The technical fault was not resolved until 10:30 PM.
For passengers on the Alvia that departed from Madrid at 6:05 PM, the restoration came too late. Due to the inoperability of the track, Renfe implemented an Alternative Transport Plan by road, forcing travelers to transfer at Santa Justa Station to complete the rest of the journey to Huelva by bus.
According to one of the affected passengers, the bus did not arrive at the Huelva station until 10:50 PM, resulting in a considerable delay that disrupted the day for dozens of users in a scenario that has become a common occurrence in the province.
Renfe stated that passengers were kept informed through usual customer service channels, but traveler dissatisfaction was widespread. With circulation restored since last night, Huelva users are once again focusing on the need for definitive solutions to end the precariousness of this vital connection for the province's personal and professional development.
Resigned users confessed to Huelva Información that they had not taken the train in some time, but from now on, they would not even try again, stating that "with Huelva, it's always the same".
