The night in Punta Umbría turned into a high-stakes action scene when a four-engine narco-boat attempted to evade Civil Guard patrol vessels. This incident culminated in the intervention of a valuable drug shipment and the arrest of those involved.
The operation began when radar detected an unlit vessel traveling at high speed. Upon interception, the occupants of the narco-boat, laden with burlap bales, performed evasive maneuvers and frontal attacks, endangering the officers.
“"They gravely endangered the physical integrity of the officers."
The expertise of the Civil Guard was crucial in boarding the vessel under extremely dangerous conditions. After subduing the four suspects, officers discovered a total of 4,000 kilograms of hashish, a haul with a significant market value.
The four individuals have been brought before the courts. The Central Investigating Court number 1 of the Audiencia Nacional has ordered their immediate provisional imprisonment. They are charged with drug trafficking and assault on law enforcement officers, while the investigation remains open to identify the owners of the four-ton cargo.
