The Palos de la Frontera City Council has launched a training initiative to prepare 45 unemployed young people for green industry jobs, with an investment exceeding 600,000 euros.

Aware of the industrial transformation in the province of Huelva, the Palos de la Frontera City Council has designed a training strategy for unemployed youth, focused on green energy. The goal is to prepare them for future jobs in this high-potential sector.
The council has invested over 600,000 euros in a program specializing in green hydrogen. This initiative aims to facilitate the employment of 45 young people, responding to the growing demand for qualified professionals driven by the development of large renewable energy projects.
The mayor, Milagros Romero, highlighted the City Council's commitment to youth employment and the municipality's future. "We want our young people to be the first to seize the job opportunities that the development of green hydrogen and clean energy will generate in our area," she stated.
In its second edition, the program has significantly increased female participation, consolidating women's presence in a traditionally male-dominated sector and opening new avenues for employment.
The training includes three specialized courses: maintenance of instrumentation and control systems; electricity and green hydrogen production and maintenance technologies; and mechanical maintenance and assembly of green hydrogen industrial equipment. These courses, lasting approximately 1,400 hours, are held at the Palos de la Frontera Business Initiatives Center.
Participants receive a monthly scholarship throughout the ten-month program, allowing them to fully dedicate themselves to their training and cover daily expenses.
Through this program, the City Council reaffirms its commitment to training as a tool for inclusion and progress, adapting the qualifications of its youth to new industrial challenges and fostering local talent for the economic growth of Huelva province.
