The National Police has implemented an extensive special security operation for the 2026 Colombinas Festival in Huelva. During the celebration days, a total of almost 400 officers have been on duty to ensure security both inside and outside the fairgrounds, as well as in other leisure and tourist areas of the city.
The main objective of this police reinforcement is to prevent crimes, maintain public order, and ensure a rapid response to any incidents. To achieve this, specialized units such as the Cavalry Unit, the Air Unit, and various Citizen Security units like the Police Intervention Unit and Prevention and Reaction Units have been present.
Furthermore, plainclothes officers from Judicial Police units have patrolled to deter theft and robbery, and specific measures have been established to prevent home burglaries. The Provincial Aliens Brigade, in collaboration with Labor Inspection, has conducted checks to ensure compliance with labor regulations.
The Private Security Unit has also verified the adequacy of private security services at the fair events, contributing to a safe environment for all attendees.
