The president of the Popular Party of Huelva, Manuel Andrés González, has expressed his satisfaction with the National Court's decision to accept the appeal lodged by the Junta de Andalucía. This appeal opposes the demarcation proposed by the Government of Spain for the marshland of the Doñana National Park.
“"We have always maintained that the proposal by the Sánchez and Montero Government goes against the interests of Andalusian autonomy and the real conservation of the environment."
González emphasized that this admission to processing represents a significant step forward that supports the stance taken by the Andalusian Government. According to the popular leader, the demarcation in question is detrimental to the interests of Doñana Park itself and its conservation, in addition to contradicting the position of the Doñana Participation Council.
The PP leader recalled that his party has consistently denounced that the demarcation promoted by the Ministry for Ecological Transition disregards the history of the area, scientific conclusions, and the autonomy of both the autonomous community and the municipality of Hinojos. He insisted that the Doñana marshland has never been tidal or flooded by seawater, describing the initiative by the Government of Pedro Sánchez and María Jesús Montero as an “outrage”.
