The planning for the coming year maintains the usual 12 holidays, covering both national and regional celebrations. To this list, each city council in the province of Huelva must incorporate its two local festivities, thus completing a total of 14 non-working days for citizens.
Among the most notable changes are two holiday transfers that will create three-day long weekends. Andalucía Day, which falls on Sunday, February 28, will be moved to Monday, March 1. Similarly, the Assumption of the Virgin, on August 15, will also coincide with a Sunday, so the holiday will be enjoyed on Monday, August 16.
The Junta de Andalucía has exercised its power to designate January 6 (Epiphany) and March 25 (Holy Thursday) as regional holidays, dates that hold deep tradition in the community. These are in addition to the aforementioned Andalucía Day. The remaining holiday dates correspond to the mandatory national calendar.
Citizens of Huelva should look out for the upcoming publication in the official bulletin of each province, which will detail the two specific local holidays that each city council has selected to complete the 2027 work calendar.
