The city of Huelva kicks off its Colombinas Festival this Wednesday, July 29th, with the lighting of its monumental entrance arch, which this year recreates the historic arch of the Plus Ultra flight.

After weeks of preparations and a growing atmosphere of anticipation, Huelva is fully immersed in its main summer festival. The countdown has ended, and the lighting of the entrance arch will mark the official start of the Colombinas Festival, an event that attracts people from Huelva and visitors from outside the province and beyond.
The inauguration will feature the surprise of the Plus Ultra float, crewed by children from the Patio del Amor and the Corporación Infantil, accompanied by a marching band. The event will be enlivened by the voice of Huelva artist Carmen Molina, who, along with the Municipal Symphonic Band of Huelva, will perform 'La Gloria del Águila'.
The imposing entrance arch, a recreation of the arch erected to welcome the pioneers of the Plus Ultra flight, stands out with its 148,320 LED lights. In total, the venue is illuminated with 1,413,096 light points, distributed across 138 arches, 27,848 garland lamps, 52 projectors, and nine gantries.
The main stage and the Caseta Municipal will host a diverse lineup of artists. On Wednesday the 29th, M-Clan, El Canijo de Jerez, and Los Estanques will perform. On Thursday the 30th, flamenco will take center stage with Marta Santos, Ana de Caro, and Gloria Bendita. Friday the 31st will feature urban rhythms with One Love and Juan Magán. Saturday, August 1st, will see the important indie-rock band Viva Suecia perform alongside DJ Dani P. and DJ Bau Huelva. On Sunday, August 2nd, Lia Kali, a revelation artist of recent years, and composer Diego Guerrero will take the stage. The festival will close on Monday, August 3rd, with the iconic Rosario Flores.
In addition to concerts, the festival will offer 50 booths, 24 adult attractions, and a wide gastronomic selection including bars, chocolate shops, burger joints, ice cream parlors, nougat stands, and baked potato stalls. There will also be 18 skill game booths, four tombola stalls, two bingo areas, and four specific shows.
The venue has over 4,500 parking spaces, including a free parking area for people with reduced mobility, with a fee of 5 euros. A special taxi and bus service will be available, with fares of 1.50 euros for a single trip and 2.50 euros for a round trip. For younger attendees, a free daily play area service will be offered from 10:00 PM to 3:00 AM.
The Colombinas Festival will conclude in the early hours of Tuesday, August 4th, with a grand fireworks display synchronized with music over the Huelva Estuary at 00:30.
