The Colombinas , Huelva's main festival, begins this Wednesday with a special day that, as a new feature this year, celebrates Children's Day, offering reduced prices on attractions after the lighting ceremony and inauguration of the main entrance.
The lighting ceremony is scheduled for 9:15 PM and will last approximately one hour. A float from Plus Ultra, crewed by children from the Patio del Amor and the Corporación Infantil, accompanied by a charanga band, will be a highlight. Local artist Carmen Molina, along with the Municipal Symphonic Band of Huelva, will perform Carlos Gardel's 'La Gloria del Águila'.
Following this, at 10:00 PM, a fireworks display will take place, accompanied by the Municipal Band of Huelva, which will play 'Suspiros de España', 'Por una Cabeza', and the 'Danza Ritual del Fuego' by Manuel de Falla as the fireworks light up the sky.
Children's Day coincides with the inauguration, featuring significant discounts on rides. Prices will be 3 euros for children and 4 euros for adults, with exceptions for rides with fewer than 16 seats and single routes. Attractions will be available from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
Additionally, a Children's Party will be held at the Caseta Municipal starting at 10:30 PM, with musical performances and clowns. The fairground will also offer a free daily childcare service from July 29 to August 3, from 10:00 PM to 3:00 AM.
Regarding concerts, on Wednesday the 29th, M-Clan will perform at 10:30 PM, followed by El Canijo de Jerez y Los Estanques at 12:30 AM on the main stage, which has been moved closer to the estuary to improve crowd flow.
The entertainment offerings include 62 stalls, 24 adult attractions, and 28 for children, along with 18 game stands, four tombola stalls, two bingo halls, and specific shows like the Casa del Miedo and the Grand Prix. There will also be 20 artisan and commercial stalls, and a diverse gastronomic selection including bars, chocolatiers, burger joints, and ice cream parlors.
At the Caseta Municipal, starting at 12:00 AM, the Orquesta Alejandría will perform. In the afternoon, at 8:00 PM, a bullfighting event featuring young bulls will take place at La Merced.
