The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has activated orange and yellow level alerts in the province of Huelva for this Wednesday and Thursday due to predicted high temperatures, which could reach 40 degrees Celsius.

Aemet has issued extreme heat warnings for the province of Huelva for this Wednesday and Thursday. Maximum temperatures of up to 40 degrees Celsius are expected in the Aracena and Andévalo y Condado areas, where a significant danger orange alert will be activated. The Litoral (coast) of Huelva will remain on yellow alert, with maximums potentially reaching 36 degrees Celsius. These alerts will be active from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
The forecast for Thursday is similar, with the orange alert maintained in the central and northern areas of the province, and the yellow level on the coast. Skies are expected to be mostly clear, which could intensify the muggy feeling. Minimum temperatures will also be high, not dropping below 21 degrees Celsius.
Additionally, the maximum ultraviolet index is raised to level 10 out of 11, indicating a very high risk of sun damage to skin and eyes. Prolonged sun exposure should be avoided, seeking shade especially during the central hours of the day, and wearing cool, covering clothing is recommended.
As of Friday, no alerts have been activated yet, although maximum temperatures are expected to remain very high, around 37 degrees Celsius, with the muggy feeling persisting. A slight thermal decrease is predicted for Saturday, which may mark a turning point for a new temperature increase towards Sunday and Monday.
The municipality of El Granado has recorded exceptionally high temperatures, being one of the hottest spots in Andalusia for two consecutive days. This Tuesday, it reached 40.6 degrees Celsius, making it the third hottest municipality in the autonomous community. On Monday, it recorded 40.8 degrees Celsius, ranking as the second highest.
