The operation, which began in mid-March, culminated in the arrest of ten individuals and the seizure of a large quantity of narcotics, war weapons, a pistol, vehicles, mobile phones, and cash. The detainees have been remanded in custody after appearing before a judge.
The first breakthrough occurred when agents intercepted a van transporting over a ton of cocaine. At that time, the driver and two other individuals who were conducting counter-surveillance to alert about police presence were arrested.
Subsequently, the investigation led to the seizure of another 3,500 kilos of cocaine in a "nursery" used to store the drugs in Gibraleón, Huelva. During the search, four Kalashnikov assault rifles, cash, and a stolen van with false license plates were found. Five people were arrested at this location after attempting to flee. The last part of the shipment, about 400 kilos of cocaine and more cash, was intercepted in Utrera, Seville.
“"The seized drugs were likely destined for the Netherlands, and in the illicit market, they would have reached a wholesale value of over 130 million euros."
According to Alberto Morales, head of the Central Narcotics Brigade of the National Police, the seized drugs, estimated at over 130 million euros in the illicit market, were likely destined for the Netherlands. The investigation remains open to identify all those responsible for this organization, which provided logistical services to international drug trafficking networks.
