After three days of tireless effort, the fire affecting Doñana National Park has been stabilized. Approximately 100 Infoca personnel remain deployed in the area, focusing their efforts on ground-based extinguishing operations. The operation includes 6 water trucks, 4 tractors with plows, an analysis unit, an office module, and a medical unit.
The Minister of Health, Presidency, and Emergencies for the Regional Government of Andalusia, Antonio Sanz, announced the fire's stabilization last night, expressing gratitude for the work of the Infoca teams. He highlighted the participation of over 400 professionals and thirty aerial resources since last Sunday.
Sanz presented an initial estimate suggesting that a portion of the affected area may have been spared from burning and that many zones are expected to regenerate naturally. He noted the presence of 'islands of undamaged vegetation' and the significant regeneration capacity of the remaining affected areas.
The fire, which started on Sunday afternoon in the Rincón del Membrillo area of Almonte, has shown 'better evolution' thanks to the extensive ground and air deployment, achieving stabilization past ten o'clock last Tuesday night.
