The Andalusian Association of Family Businesses (AAEF) held its XXV General Assembly in Huelva, where a leadership change took place, underscoring the critical role of these companies in the regional economy.

The AAEF conducted its XXV General Assembly in Huelva, an event that symbolized a new phase for the Andalusian business sector. During the assembly, a new head of the organization was appointed, taking over after the presentation of his predecessor's final annual report.
The leadership transition, coinciding with the association's 25th anniversary and under the motto 'Origin and Destiny,' set the tone for a day that brought together a significant portion of the Andalusian business community at the headquarters of the Huelva Federation of Entrepreneurs (FOE) to discuss the present and, especially, the future of a model that underpins the regional economy.

"The AAEF is a meeting point for entrepreneurs with common circumstances, who belong to families that have inherited a legacy, and we want to develop it and prepare it for the future."

The new president emphasized the uniqueness of family businesses, which not only meet traditional business parameters but also incorporate a dimension of generational continuity. He explained that these companies receive a legacy to enhance and pass on to future generations, adding complexity to the simultaneous management of business and family.
This business model has a considerable impact on the economy, generating between 60% and 80% of employment and showing greater growth capacity compared to listed companies. The president also outlined his action plan, which includes strengthening the association's role as a link with society and institutions, seeking sustainable and consensual initiatives.
Furthermore, the importance of expanding the association's territorial presence throughout Andalusia was highlighted, with the aim of bringing the organization closer to all provinces. The choice of Huelva as the venue for this edition was justified as part of this strategy.
The day also included a program focused on the structural challenges of the family business model, with particular attention to leadership and generational succession. In a panel discussion, representatives from various companies addressed professionalization and adaptation to complex environments, emphasizing the need to manage the transition between generations to ensure the longevity of businesses.
