This initiative represents a significant advancement not only for the tourist promotion of El Rocío but also for road safety and the quality of information received by visitors. Clearer and more uniform signage will facilitate route planning, reduce confusion at junctions and exits, and provide a more appropriate response to the cultural, heritage, religious, and tourist importance of this enclave, which attracts visitors throughout the year.
The Council has been working on various reports and administrative actions to define the correct procedure to address a long-standing need identified on key roads such as the A-49 and the A-483. The prepared documentation highlights the importance of reinforcing signage towards Almonte, El Rocío, and Matalascañas, especially at points where current information is insufficient to clearly guide drivers and visitors.
In this context, the City Council has promoted the necessary documentation to support the inclusion of El Rocío in the Sistho catalog, an essential prerequisite for advancing the implementation of homologated tourist signage on state-owned roads. In this way, the Council continues to take steps in a process of great interest to the entire municipality.
The government team also emphasizes that this line of work will allow further progress in improving the visibility of the Almonte village on the state road network and providing clearer information for those accessing its main population centers. The future incorporation of El Rocío into the official catalog of signable destinations will, in this sense, be another step to adapt the signage to the dimension that this enclave represents within the municipality.
