The Association of Chemical, Basic, and Energy Industries of Huelva (Aiqbe) has welcomed Ariema as a new associated company. This strategic move aims to enhance industrial innovation, energy transition, and the development of green hydrogen in the province of Huelva. With this addition, Aiqbe consolidates an increasingly robust industrial ecosystem, reaching a total of 22 companies and one public entity as associates, in a year marked by the celebration of its 40th anniversary.
Ariema, with over two decades of experience, stands out as Spain's most veteran company specializing in green hydrogen and the only one with Spanish capital and proprietary alkaline electrolysis technology. The company develops all its systems internally, positioning itself as a national technological benchmark.
Aiqbe's president, Juan del Olmo, described Ariema's incorporation as "a very important step" that strengthens Huelva's position as an "strategic hub for the energy transition and the development of new projects." Ariema's entry adds experience and leadership in a key sector for the industrial future.
As part of this agreement, Ariema plans to install Spain's first plant dedicated to the integral manufacturing of electrolyzers in Huelva, essential equipment for green hydrogen production. This project is expected to reach an annual capacity of 200 MW and generate over 300 direct jobs in the province.
Aiqbe thus reaffirms its role as a "meeting point for key industries and strategic projects" for Huelva's energy and industrial future, promoting collaboration, technological innovation, and sustainability as pillars of the region's economic and social development.
