The Agency for Emergencies of Andalucía, through the single emergency number 112, managed 28,075 incidents in the province of Huelva between January and June this year. This figure represents a 4.9% increase compared to the 26,754 incidents coordinated in the same period last year, according to data from the Regional Ministry of the Presidency, Health, and Emergencies of the Junta.
Health assistance was the most frequent reason for calls, with 12,461 cases. This was followed by public safety alerts (4,411), traffic incidents (2,754), animal-related emergencies (1,791), fires (1,664), and traffic accidents (1,485). There were also 681 anomalies in basic services, 399 requests for social services, and 271 requirements for rescue and salvage operations.
At the Andalusian level, the total number of incidents coordinated between January and June 2026 reached 459,715. The province of Huelva registered the fewest emergencies, ranking below Jaén (30,344), Córdoba (30,899), Almería (38,776), Granada (55,768), Cádiz (58,487), Málaga (98,714), and Seville (114,546).
The busiest time for the 112 control rooms was between 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM, with an average of 149 incidents managed per hour. The month of June saw the highest number of calls in Huelva during this first semester, with 5,506, closely followed by May, with 5,266.
The 112 is a free, public European service that handles health, fire and rescue, public safety, and civil protection emergencies. It allows access to all necessary assistance for any emergency 24 hours a day and features an Advanced Mobile Location (AML) system to provide the caller's exact coordinates.
The service is multilingual, attending users in Spanish, English, French, German, Ukrainian, and Arabic, ensuring coverage for all emergency situations regardless of the caller's origin or language.
