The defeat of Unicaja in Granada has left the coach of the Málaga team visibly affected. After the game, the coach expressed his difficulty in explaining what happened on the court, describing the performance as "disappointing" and announcing a thorough analysis for the following day.
“"It's very difficult to explain today's performance; we need to analyze it tomorrow because it was disappointing."
The coach congratulated Covirán Granada on their victory, highlighting the energy and determination with which they played. He acknowledged that his team started the game poorly, both in energy and accuracy, and did not follow the pre-game instructions. Although there was a slight improvement in the second quarter, especially in execution, the lack of offensive rebounding and the local team's recovery of order once again broke the game.
The coach's main concern lies in his players' evident lack of energy. Despite having had a full week of preparation, the team did not show the expected attitude. The coach emphasized that they cannot "act as if nothing happened" and that measures will be taken, especially after four consecutive defeats. He stressed the importance of competing with a different approach, beyond just winning.
“"What is clear is that we cannot act as if nothing happened. We are going to take some measures, because we were coming from four consecutive defeats."
The coach recalled that the season has had difficult moments, but the performance in Granada, as well as in some stretches of the game in Bilbao, is "very worrying." He admitted that some players are not finding their rhythm and that it is the coaching staff's responsibility to help them. Despite having no complaints about the daily effort, the concern focuses on on-court performance.
