The Bioclassics project, conceived by Sheila Blanco, transforms the lives of great classical composers into musical narratives, using their own works as a guiding thread. This initiative, which began in 2018 as a radio collaboration, has evolved into symphonic concerts touring various venues.
Throughout the past week, the artist and the Granada City Orchestra, under the direction of maestro Ignacio García-Vidal, offered multiple didactic sessions for students from 72 educational centers in Granada. The concerts combined historical anecdotes with masterful interpretations of pieces by composers such as Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and Bizet.
“"The proposal to narrate the lives of great composers using their own music as a guiding thread has found a wide audience on social media, in classrooms, and on stages."
Sheila Blanco's ability to communicate and her passion for music have been key to the success of these events, which culminated in a tribute to Manuel de Falla on his 150th anniversary, performing the popular song Anda jaleo.
In addition to Bioclassics, Sheila Blanco's career includes works such as Sheila Down, Puro Gershwin, and Cantando a las poetas del 27, as well as collaborations in various media and her current tour with Los mareados.
