The arrest took place in the early hours of the morning after the gym manager, located in the northern district of the city, received an alarm notification for unauthorized access. Security cameras confirmed the intrusion, leading to immediate communication with the National Police.
Upon the arrival of police units, an accomplice of the detainee fled in a vehicle. The alleged perpetrator of the robbery, for his part, tried to evade the officers by hiding between a metal wall and a concrete pillar inside the premises.
Officers confirmed that the parking lot door had been forced open, with the padlock cut. A second internal door also showed signs of having been tampered with. During the inspection, a storage cage with cut bars was discovered, along with three bicycles, presumably stolen from inside.
A backpack containing tools believed to have been used for the robbery, including a battery-powered angle grinder, cable cutters, and a punch, was found at the scene. The sports center manager informed the Police that an electric scooter had also been stolen from an employee days earlier, and investigations are underway to determine if the arrested individual could also be involved in that incident. The judicial authority has ordered the suspect's imprisonment.
