In a recent press conference, the lead candidate for the PP in Granada for the upcoming elections, emphasized the Junta de Andalucía's commitment to technological innovation in the province. It was highlighted that this leadership is a result of a clear dedication to placing Granada at the forefront of digital transformation.
The candidate pointed out that Granada has become a driving force for digital transformation, with a projected investment of 18.5 million euros by the Andalusian Digital Agency for strategic projects until 2026. In this context, the Andalusian Artificial Intelligence Center (ANIA), based in the city, is emerging as the central axis of the Andalusian AI strategy.
“"Granada is today a motor of digital transformation, supported by the 18.5 million that the Andalusian Digital Agency will allocate in 2026 to strategic projects in the province."
From ANIA, over 7.3 million euros are being mobilized for digital transformation initiatives, Artificial Intelligence, and quantum computing for Granada and the rest of Andalusia. This is complemented by an additional 15 million euros in European projects linked to AI, robotics, and exponential technologies.
Key initiatives include the digital twin of the Alhambra, the development of JuntaGPT as an ecosystem of generative AI tools for public employees, and the creation of the Quantum ADA exponential technologies center, with a focus on quantum computing. These actions position Granada as a future laboratory for advanced solutions in heritage, smart tourism, and public service improvement.
The political party also highlighted the collaborative ecosystem around Artificial Intelligence in the province, which includes the participation of the University of Granada, the AI Granada Foundation, the City Council, and other knowledge and business sector actors. This joint effort seeks to consolidate Granada as a space for experimentation, talent attraction, and opportunity generation in future technologies.
