The president of the PP of Andalusia and candidate for re-election, Juanma Moreno, has pledged to continue with tax reduction policies at the presentation of his 109 candidates in Granada, five weeks before the regional elections on May 17.
During the event held at the Barceló Hotel in Granada, Moreno urged his candidates to conduct a “clean, positive campaign,” focused on proposals and with great enthusiasm. The event, which saw a massive turnout, served as a platform for the Andalusian leader to highlight the strength of his team, describing it as “enthusiastic, capable, truthful,” and committed to the well-being of Andalusia’s citizens.
“
"There is no one who can stop an enthusiastic, capable, truthful team that tells the truth and a team that works all hours of the day for the benefit of the citizens of Andalusia, with maximum commitment, effort, and guarantee. There is no one who can stop us."
Moreno warned about the intentions of other political parties that, according to him, lack credible programs and initiatives, and whose sole objective is to “break the majority of stability, normality, progress, and well-being” built in Andalusia. He underscored the importance of the upcoming elections on May 17 to maintain the “stable majority of coexistence” and avoid the “troubles” that, in his opinion, characterize national politics and other communities like Extremadura.
The re-election candidate emphasized that, unlike others who view politics as a mere formality, for his team, it is about the “future of our children and grandchildren.” In this regard, he proposed a project based on “joy, modernity, color, freshness, future, drive, enthusiasm,” presenting himself as “the party of Andalusia.”
Moreno also highlighted the composition of his candidacies, made up of “a great team of men and women” from the eight Andalusian provinces, to whom he attributed “capacity, experience, and enthusiasm.” He stressed their commitment to serious management, respect, and a vocation for public service, elements he considers distinctive of his party. He affirmed that these candidates know “every corner of their province” and share the necessary empathy to understand citizens’ problems.
The Andalusian president argued that the PP of Andalusia’s project is not “empty,” but rather “backed by the results of its management.” He mentioned Andalusia’s economic growth above the national average for seven years and the creation of nearly 600,000 job opportunities, which has brought unemployment to its lowest levels in 18 years. With this support, Moreno promised to continue with the “Andalusian way” of tax cuts, in contrast to the fiscal policy of the Sánchez and Montero Government.
“
"Against those who are already announcing that they will reintroduce the Inheritance and Gift Tax, the PP of Andalusia will continue to lower taxes."
He criticized the potential reintroduction of the Inheritance and Gift Tax, calling it a “very serious error,” and recalled that its bonus has made life easier for many families. He announced the elimination of this tax for housing between siblings. Regarding public services, Moreno acknowledged the challenges and the need for real reforms, especially in housing, where he criticized ideological measures that, in his opinion, have limited rental supply.
Finally, Juanma Moreno urged his candidates to continue working with serenity, sensitivity, and truth, always facing Andalusians to continue transforming the community. The event concluded with a tribute to Olga Carrión, president of the Andalusian Women's Institute, who recently passed away.
