This improvement plan, to be implemented in the coming months, seeks to address the most deteriorated sections of the road network following a thorough analysis of their condition. The initiative is part of a broader regional program that divides Andalucía into 16 lots to standardize infrastructure improvements across the territory.
The works have been divided into two major lots covering the entire geography of Granada. The first, focused on the north and northeast of the province, has been awarded for 10.32 million euros. The second lot, covering the metropolitan area and the south of Granada, involves an investment of 7.17 million euros.
The planned works include a wide range of interventions, such as repairing potholes and sunken areas, milling and replacing asphalt, restoring lower pavement layers, and laying new bituminous mixtures. Improvements to horizontal signage, replacement of containment and beaconing elements, and joint repairs in structures and gauging stations will also be carried out.
“"These actions are designed not only to fix visible damage but also to reinforce the road structure and extend its useful life."
The contract has an estimated duration of seven months, with the possibility of extension, which would allow for further actions if necessary. These works will directly impact the daily mobility of thousands of residents who use these roads to travel between municipalities, especially in the metropolitan area and access points to the capital. The Junta aims to reduce incidents, enhance safety, and prevent the progressive deterioration of the province's busiest roads.
