The police operation has culminated in the dismantling of a criminal network dedicated to cultivating and shipping marijuana to various European Union countries. Fourteen arrests have been made: seven in Granada, six in Málaga, and one in Almería. Seven of the detainees, including the main leaders, have had their provisional imprisonment requested.
The investigation, which began in September 2025, has identified the organization's structure and documented its methods. Nineteen entries and searches were conducted, dismantling facilities used for cultivation, processing, and packaging the drug. Profits were hidden in Baza, while the substance was grown in Granada and Almería and stored in warehouses and homes.
Subsequently, the marijuana was transported to Málaga via trucks, using decoy vehicles and security measures to deter police action. In Fuengirola, a property used as a drug 'nursery' was discovered, where the substance was packaged and prepared for shipment to countries like Germany and Greece, markets offering higher profits.
The operation commenced in April with the interception of the main leader and two other members as they left the 'nursery' after preparing a shipment of 36 kilograms of marijuana. This action reinforced the evidence gathered and led to the operational phase in late June.
In total, 118 kilos of marijuana and five kilos of hashish were seized. On the Costa del Sol, six people were arrested, and prohibited weapons including an extendable baton, two brass knuckles, and a pepper spray gun were confiscated, along with a GPS tracker and nearly 10,000 euros.
In Granada, 13 entries and searches resulted in seven arrests, the seizure of eight vehicles, nearly 10,000 euros, GPS devices and signal jammers, packaging machines, drug presses, over 200 mobile phones, a drone, and a taser. In Almería, one person was arrested, and two vehicles and approximately 1,200 euros were seized.
