Local Police officers in Granada attempted to intercept the driver after observing an irregular maneuver. The individual, around 50 years old, then began a high-speed chase that spanned the streets of the capital, the highway, Santa Fe, and an access lane towards El Jau.
In El Jau, the detainee abandoned the vehicle and continued fleeing on foot, eventually being intercepted by another plainclothes police unit. During the pursuit, the driver drove recklessly, endangering the lives of pedestrians and other drivers in crowded areas.
Following the arrest, it was confirmed that the man lacked a driving license. Inside the vehicle, a prohibited weapon and heroin were found, in quantities considered for personal use. The detainee is a known offender with almost a hundred prior offenses and several years of imprisonment.
