The city of Granada is set to celebrate the peak days of its Corpus Christi festivities this Wednesday. The central event will be the parade of the Festival's Public Figure, popularly known as La Tarasca, which will wind through the streets following its traditional route. As every year, the attire worn by the mannequin on the dragon will be one of the points of greatest interest and discussion.
Granada-based designer Yolanda Ubago, head of the ceremonial fashion firm Isamar, has been responsible for creating this year's costume. The choice holds special significance, as her parents, Isaías and Mari Carmen, founders of Isamar, also dressed La Tarasca in 2005. This commission represents a testament to family continuity and the deep roots of a Granada-based company in the city's most emblematic traditions.
The team of local professionals is completed by Beatriz Escañuela, who will be in charge of hair and makeup, joining other Granada creators committed to the city's festivities.
Yolanda Ubago, a psychologist by training, has dedicated her career to the world of fashion since her youth, growing up alongside her parents' business. Leading Isamar, she emphasizes 'excellence and honesty' as guiding principles.
The parade of La Tarasca, scheduled to begin at 12:00 PM, will be accompanied by the traditional procession of giants and big-heads, enlivening the streets of Granada.
