The Granada City Council has announced the incorporation of the Società Dante Alighieri of Granada into its project for the European Capital of Culture 2031. This adhesion represents new support in the European cultural sphere, consolidating the city's international alliances.
The Società Dante Alighieri, based in Granada, is the official center for Italian language and culture in the city. It is part of a global network founded in Rome in 1889, dedicated to the dissemination of the Italian language and the promotion of Italian culture through educational activities and literary projects.
Among its initiatives, the Dante of Granada organizes the Contemporary Italian Literature Festival, whose first edition will be held in Granada in November 2026. This event aims to be a meeting point between current Italian literature and the Spanish-speaking world, fostering exchange among authors, translators, publishers, and readers.
