Of the 1,796 candidates in the Granada center, 1,182 are men and 614 are women. Most applicants come from the provinces of Almería (688) and Granada (1,107). Nationally, 26,806 individuals are vying for the available positions.
A notable statistic is that nearly a third of the applicants nationwide, totaling 9,194, hold university or professional degrees. Among them, 903 have a master's degree and 9 hold a doctorate. The average age of participants is 27 years.
The opposition phase consists of four tests: knowledge (theoretical and psychometric), physical fitness, personal interview, and medical examination. The knowledge tests were held simultaneously in 20 locations across the country, including Granada.
Prior to this, a merit-based phase was conducted, where applicants' qualifications were evaluated. Candidates were required to meet criteria such as being between 18 and 40 years old, holding Spanish nationality, having no criminal record, and possessing at least a high school diploma.
Applicants who pass the knowledge test will be invited to undergo the physical fitness tests, which include an agility circuit, a two-kilometer run, a specified number of push-ups based on gender, and a 50-meter swim.
Those who successfully complete all stages will join the Academy of Sergeants and Guards in Baeza (Jaén) and the Duque de Ahumada Young Guards College in Valdemoro (Madrid) for professional training and practical experience.
